Abacus was honored last week with the Upper Middle Market Award at ACG Orlando’s SMART Awards.
ACG Orlando established the SMART Awards to celebrate businesses that bring value to Central Florida through outstanding accomplishments in culture, growth, business creativity, and economic contribution. It’s their commitment to facilitating relationships among middle-market companies, capital sources, and the professionals focused on corporate growth.
Why I’m so honored for this award is what it represents for Abacus as we officially join Orlando’s Central Business District.
What Orlando Has Given Us
We just moved our headquarters to downtown Orlando, Truist Plaza at Church Street Station, after years in MetroWest. That move comes at a critical time for our company and signals how we are planting a flag in a city that’s been home base for Abacus since the beginning.

Orlando has given us room to grow. We’ve built relationships here. We’ve hired talent here. We’ve invested in the community here. And we’re truly part of a larger urban transformation underway in this city. Church Street is becoming a festival street. Creative Village is adding $600 million in development through 2029. Companies like Travel + Leisure Co. are moving their global headquarters downtown. And taken together, these moves show that this city is building something bigger than any single company.
We’re proud to be part of that.
The Community That Makes It Possible
What strikes me most about ACG Orlando isn’t just the award. It’s the community behind it.
When you bring together middle-market companies, capital sources, and growth-focused professionals in one room, you create something rare: a network where people genuinely want to see each other succeed. Where collaboration isn’t transactional. Where relationships compound over time.
That’s the kind of environment that allows companies like ours to flourish. And it’s exactly what Central Florida has fostered.
Congratulations to All the SMART Finalists
We also want to extend our congratulations to all of the sector winners and finalists. The caliber of companies recognized this year, the innovation, the execution, the economic contribution, is a reflection of what makes Orlando’s business community special.
The standard upheld among this group of businesses is something to be proud of.

What This Means to Us
Awards are validating. But what we’re most grateful for is the opportunity to build here.
Orlando gave us the foundation, the talent, the infrastructure and the community willing to support ambitious companies doing hard things.
This award is a reminder of what’s possible when a city invests in its businesses and those businesses invest back in the city. We’re honored to receive it. And we’re committed to continuing to earn it. Thank you, ACG Orlando. And congratulations to everyone who makes Central Florida a place where companies can grow.
